R. Jackson Kelly is an Investor Relations executive with international marketing and entrepreneurial expertise, and a record of persuasive influence with investors, analysts and C-suite executives. A six-year Chief Investor Relations Officer who partnered directly with the CEO, CFO and Board of Directors at The Coca-Cola Company, Jackson built a world-class IR function while participating at the highest level in core strategic initiatives.
Jackson thrives on leading diverse teams, with an emphasis on challenging the traditional ways of doing business, placing a high value on quality and creating a culture of innovation.
Since retiring early from Coca-Cola in 2016, Jackson has worked with multiple startup and enterprise companies on diverse strategic initiatives, both as the Founder of RJK Consultancy, a private equity firm, and as a Partner at Lexicon Strategies, a strategic marketing, communications and public relations consulting firm. He is also a member of the Board of Advisors at MobiJuce, an innovative mobile technology/marketing sharing startup based in Hong Kong.
For over 20+ years at Coca-Cola, Jackson has built a reputation for strategic and innovative leadership in high-impact roles that spanned business development, international marketing and investor relations. He was Brand Manager behind the launch of Coca-Cola’s first sports drink (Powerade), now a $1B+ global brand. He was the driving force behind the creation of the “World of Coca-Cola,” a $100M corporate and entertainment destination, and he launched Brand Atlanta, an innovative public/private partnership chartered by the Mayor and the CEO of Coca-Cola that spurred unprecedented growth in tourism to the Atlanta area.
Later, as Vice President, International Marketing, Jackson turned around the Company’s marketing strategies in Japan, China and Europe, making bold moves to revive regionally important brands and channels.
Then, as Strategic Advisor to the President and CEO and Chief Investor Relations Officer, he was involved in leading key strategic finance initiatives, defining investor messaging and communications, and spearheading the company’s global positioning during a period of remarkable growth. As CIRO, he marketed the company’s short- and long-term growth story, implemented IR segmentation studies and critical engagement programs, and managed hundreds of investor/analyst meetings, conferences and calls a year. He also led strategic communications for the acquisitions of Green Mountain Coffee Roasters and Glacéau (the maker of Vitaminwater) and other transactions. As evidence of his performance, Jackson was recognized by Institutional Investor magazine as the Best Investor Relations Officer in consumer goods/beverages for six straight years.
Jackson began his career as an accountant in the Audit Division at Arthur Andersen & Co. in Washington, DC, where he worked across many industries and served as an auditor of the White House collections.
In 1999, Jackson co-founded RichFX, a pioneering computer-generated video company that gave retailers the ability to design and implement rich media across online channels. The company, backed by Morgan Stanley, DLJ and other prominent investors, grew to more than 200 retail customers. He returned to Coca- Cola when RichFX moved its headquarters to Israel in 2001.
Jackson is a Certified Public Accountant who has an MBA in International Marketing from the Fuqua School of Business at Duke University and a BS with honors in Accounting and Economics from Washington and Lee University. He is a member of the AICPA the Virginia Society of CPAs and Omicron Delta Kappa (ODK). He has been active on the boards of numerous nonprofits in the Atlanta area. He also holds real estate licenses in California and Georgia.
