As a Partner at Lexicon Strategies, Polly will continue her impactful work of partnering with organizations and governments for successful outcomes through policy and programs. Her extensive expertise has been instrumental in advancing issues that improve the lives of children and families, as demonstrated through her longstanding and ongoing collaboration with Voices for Georgia’s Children.
Polly's influence extends beyond Voices for Georgia’s Children, where she has advised on policy, communications, political strategy, and government affairs since 2010. She has contributed to key initiatives such as Georgia’s historic Juvenile Justice Reform Act, Georgia’s Literacy for All Campaign, and Voices’ Child and Adolescent Health Coalition. Polly's commitment to the community is evident in her roles on various boards, including the Georgia School-Based Health Alliance Board and the National Juvenile Justice Network.
Before joining Lexicon Strategies, Polly played a crucial role in communications and comms strategies for the Southern States Energy Board (SSEB), an economic development organization composed of governors from 16-plus states. Her diverse background includes serving as the Executive Director of the League of Women Voters of Georgia and over three decades in Georgia’s film industry.
Polly's film and video experience includes producing and directing numerous documentaries and commercials, and contributing to multiple seasons on the Food Network series, “Good Eats.” Notably, she has created impactful ads for Georgia’s 2020 Census, the American Academy of Pediatrics GA Chapter, and youth-voice pieces commissioned by various entities.
Recognized for her outstanding contributions, Polly was presented with the Georgia Legislative Women’s Caucus Servant Leadership award in 2014 and proclaimed an Outstanding Georgia Citizen by Secretary of State Brian Kemp in 2018. She has participated in government-focused cultural exchanges to various countries and served as a legacy advisor to Governor Zell Miller in 1996.

Polly McKinney, a graduate of the first class of the North Carolina School of Science and Mathematics, earned her bachelor’s degree at the University of North Carolina. She resides in Atlanta and is a proud parent of two adult children, Skye and Zane.
