Lexicon Strategies and MMI Win Silver Anthem Award for Peer Advocate Program
Lexicon Strategies is proud to announce that the Money Management International (MMI) Peer Advocate Program has been awarded a Silver Anthem Award in the Campaign - Non-Profit category. This recognition highlights the innovative, community-focused approach Lexicon conceived, developed, and implemented to address financial empowerment and reduce the stigma surrounding debt.
The Anthem Awards honor mission-driven work that makes a measurable impact, and the Peer Advocate Program is a prime example of how collaboration can drive meaningful change. Among more than 2,300 entries from over 30 countries, this program was selected as a winner for its unique ability to transform personal challenges into a source of inspiration and empowerment for others.
A Collaborative Effort to Transform Lives
The Peer Advocate Program recognizes the power of lived experiences in fostering connection and reducing stigma, and we built a program to elevate those stories into tools for change.
At its core, the Peer Advocate Program empowers nearly 500 individuals across 47 states to share their personal journeys of overcoming debt. These advocates put a human face on financial challenges, showing others that they are not alone and that seeking help is not only possible but also a powerful step forward. By participating in interviews, panel discussions, and media campaigns, Peer Advocates have inspired countless individuals to take control of their financial futures.
Since the program’s inception in December 2020, Lexicon Strategies has worked closely with MMI to amplify these stories and ensure they reach the widest possible audience. Through strategic media engagement and thoughtful storytelling, the program has garnered over $228.3 million in earned media value. This includes a 269% increase in broadcast media coverage and an 82% increase in print media in 2023, demonstrating the growing impact of this initiative.

The Anthem Awards, launched by The Webby Awards, celebrate initiatives that address critical social challenges through innovative solutions. This year’s competition was the largest yet, with entries spanning the globe. For the Peer Advocate Program to be recognized in this prestigious forum is a testament to the impact of its mission and the strength of the partnership that brought it to life.
By fostering understanding and reducing barriers to financial counseling, the Peer Advocate Program is helping to change the narrative around debt and financial wellness. This recognition underscores the importance of addressing financial challenges through community-driven, accessible solutions.
