Emmy Nominated News Anchor Joins Lexicon Strategies
Tori Cooper to Focus on Strategic Communication, Media Relations, & Public Relations
Atlanta, GA – Tori Cooper, former Emmy-nominated weekend anchor and news reporter for Atlanta News First, today officially joined Lexicon Strategies as a Partner. Lexicon, www.lexiconstrategies.com, is a premier public affairs consulting firm that specializes in strategic communication, public relations and media affairs, branding, government relations, public-private partnerships, and public health.
“As I began to think about the next steps in my career, I realized that Lexicon Strategies was the perfect fit for my skill set, experience and aspirations. They have an amazing brand in Georgia and are on the front line of creativity and achieving results for their clients,” said Cooper.
Tori Cooper is an Emmy-nominated Redondo Beach, California native who came to Atlanta News First from 23ABC in Bakersfield, California, where she was a multimedia journalist and weekend morning anchor.
Tori joined ANF as a multimedia journalist in 2021, where she filmed and edited her own stories. In addition to covering major metro Atlanta news, she became a morning show reporter, and then an anchor for weekend evening newscasts.
Co-founder and managing partner, Billy Linville, said that Cooper is a top talent, who will make an immediate impact for public and private sector clients who want to communicate effectively and position their brand in the marketplace.
“Tori comes to Lexicon with a strong following, deep relationships, and a keen understanding of how the media, business, and governments operate,” said Linville.
Lexicon Strategies was founded in 2016 by Linville and managing partner, Brian Tolleson. “Our goal was to build a firm that solved the toughest challenges for our community. We want to deliver for our clients by finding the right thing to do and do it right. Tori Cooper fits that mold perfectly,” said Tolleson.
Along with Linville and Tolleson, other partners and professionals at Lexicon include Lori Geary and Dave Huddleston, both former Emmy-winning television news journalists; Ryan Roemerman, an innovative business strategist; Polly McKinney, a leader in integrating communications and policy; Sheryl Golub, a public health educator and global learning and curriculum development specialist; Amy Koonin Taylor, a content creator and crisis communication lead; and Bryan Leavoy, former managing editor for WSB-TV and digital and social media expert.
Before becoming a broadcast journalist, Cooper played soccer at the University of Georgia for their Division 1 Women’s Soccer team. She eventually transferred to The University of Colorado Boulder, where she also played for their Division I soccer team, and later graduated with a degree in Communications and Journalism.
Cooper had professional soccer opportunities in the U.S. and in Barcelona Spain but turned those opportunities down to pursue a career in journalism.
