Messaging The Civic Modernization
ParkMobile, the Number 1 parking app in the United States, in 2022 accelerated an aggressive rollout in cities across the United States as the pandemic waned and Americans returned to work, causing demand for parking to rebound.
A Modern Parking Solution
ParkMobile makes mobility simple, easy and convenient for consumers. It’s all about getting a person from point A to point B and reducing friction in the process. ParkMobile can also help cities craft better parking policies using the data generated by its app: where people are parking, when they are parking, how long they are parking. This provides cities with real insights into how they can improve parking to reduce congestion and make the city more livable.
For example, a lot of cities have one parking rate no matter where a driver is parking. ParkMobile’s data might show that in certain parts of the city there are never parking spots available, while in other parts of the city nobody is ever parking. That might mean a city is undercharging in popular areas and overcharging for less popular spaces.
A Media Strategy From Coast-To-Coast
ParkMobile tapped Lexicon Strategies to win media coverage for its new market launches and expansions in existing markets, with the goal of driving adoption of the app. Lexicon succeeded in generating widespread print, digital, radio and TV coverage that raised public awareness of the ease and convenience of using ParkMobile.
In late April 2022, ParkMobile expanded into Jacksonville, Florida, bringing mobile parking payments to the city for the first time. Jacksonville’s news and talk station WOKV interviewed ParkMobile’s CEO for its traffic podcast.
In May 2022, ParkMobile’s CEO was interviewed by host Jeff Angelo on radio station WHO 1040 in Des Moines, Iowa, about ParkMobile’s launch of its ParkDSM app in that city. The launch was also covered on June 1 by Des Moines City View.
In June 2022, ParkMobile expanded into Fort Collins, Colorado. The move was covered by BizWest and the Loveland Reporter-Herald with an interview with ParkMobile’s CEO.
In July 2022, the city of Boston announced it would launch its new and improved ParkBoston app, powered by ParkMobile. The Boston Herald published a story about the launch including an interview with a top ParkMobile exec on July 18. The city’s alternative weekly, DigBOS, followed up in August with a nearly 900-word Q&A about the launch.
In September 2022, ParkMobile launched the ability for residents of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, to book parking reservations at three big event venues. KCRG in Cedar Rapids broadcast a live two-minute drive-time report, including interviews with city residents who were happy to have the new service and an on-camera interview with a top ParkMobile executive.
ParkMobile is continuing to expand and now has close to 45 million users across the United States.
